Meet Maggie, owner of Salon Uplift since 2021, dedicated stylist since 2007, and curl-focused for over a decade. Like many other curl enthusiast, Maggie embarked on her curl-centric journey, honing her expertise through DevaCurl’s levels 1 and 2, and “The Art of Texture.” Her time spent as a DevaCurl cutting educator opened her up to a love of cutting hair and a desire to truly understand shapes and how to create them as opposed to memorizing and repeating.
Maggie’s approach to curl and cutting is uniquely her own but derived from the many incredible educators that she’s had the privilege of learning from. RezoCurl, DevaCurl, Curly Hair Artistry, Cut It Kinky, and many others have been incredibly influential in her approach to curl.
Maggie believes that a good haircut is the foundation for simple and beautiful styling. She knows that embracing your natural curl doesn’t have to be complicated. Her approach to haircare is simple yet effective. She cuts through the endless misinformation and unnecessary rules and regulations to educate her clients to better understand their own unique hair and what will work best for them. You can have balance and stunning hair at the same time.
This approach carries into her style of hair color. Maggie’s goal is to give her clients a color that is naturally beautiful. Like they were born with it, even if it’s far from what they were blessed with, nobody needs to know that. Like your cut, your color should enhance you. It should bring out the most beautiful version of you.
